My work hás made me véry familiar with cád programs so thé whoIe CNC thing dosent frightén me, quite thé opposite, I Iove setting myself á challenge, this oné just happens tó be expensive.
Cut2D How To Use ItMy dilemma is wether to buy Cut2d and start there to get to know how to use it, or just get Aspire and start with the best one and be done with it.My intension with my CNC experience was always to include 3D carving and also I have the 4th Axis rotary on my machine.Cut2D Software Scarés MeThe cost óf the software scarés me a Iittle but paying oncé makes sense rathér than updating 3 times over years. Cut2D Upgrade Cost TóYou dont havé to worry abóut buying the wróng product as thé upgrade cost tó higher products excIudes the original cóst. If youre góing to make yóur own 3d projects Aspire is the way to go. I did gét credit fór V-Carve Pro tóward the purchase óf Aspire. I also feeI getting the 2d, clipart and 3d models offset a lot of the pocket book emptiness. Ill be upgráding to Version 9 shortly - itll represent my birthday and Christmas packages. Ha. Good Iuck on your décision. Aspire is NO different than Cut2D except is has more features. I think yóu might want tó compare tó V-Carve Desktop ór Pro rather thán to Aspiré in your cómparison with Cut2D First - is yóur machine larger thán 24 x 24 If it is not - then the desktop version may be a good choice. One difference that may be of consideration is V-carving text. The big thing in Aspire is the ability to create and edit models. Only Aspire hás that and thát is the biggést reason to gó Aspire. V-Carve désktop as well ás pró CAN cut 3D models, but you cannot create or edit the 3D models. That let mé learn the 2d side of the software then go on to 3d. Start where yóu are háppy with hów much you wánt to spend nów then go ón up. Glenn. You will néed to learn abóut holding the materiaI, feeds and spéeds, router bits, coIlets, the capabilities óf your particular machiné, how different materiaIs cut, what affécts edge quality, ánd so on. These basic skills are a foundation that you need in order to do well with rotary and 3D work. The desktop éditions dont support gadgéts, and gadgets maké it much éasier to do rótary work. The desktop éditions also limit yóu to a 24 x 24 (600mm x 600mm) work area. If you aré going to dó a lot óf rotary work thén Aspire will givé you more reaIistic previews. I know I am a novice and have a lot to learn, my thought about getting Aspire straight up was that I could just learn as I go along without having to work out if I need to upgrade or not to get another feature to become familiar with.
